Faculty Member Presents at ATEE 2025 Dublin Conference

Dr. Miranda Karjagdi Çolak, Instructor at the School of Foreign Languages, recently presented a research paper entitled “Narrative Inquiry into Teacher Educators’ Use of ECML Resources for Plurilingual and Intercultural Education” at the annual Association for Teacher Educators in Europe (ATEE) Conference, held in Dublin, Ireland, in August 2025.

The study explored how teacher educators from Ireland, the Netherlands, and Türkiye engage with resources of the European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML) to support plurilingual and intercultural education for democratic culture. Drawing on narrative inquiry, the research highlighted the ways in which ECML resources help educators foster authentic professional identities while navigating the challenges of increasingly diverse educational contexts.

The presentation also introduced ARPIDE, a current ECML initiative that supports both language and subject teachers in embedding plurilingual and democratic competences across disciplines. Participation in the ATEE Conference provided an opportunity to disseminate the ARPIDE project and to share insights with an international community of teacher educators and researchers.
