BTU Preference Days

Bursa Technical University (BTU) is once again organizing its annual "BTU Preference Days" event. Taking place on July 24-25, this event will allow prospective university students to meet one-on-one with academics and gain insights into different departments, helping them make informed decisions about their future.

Organized by BTU's Corporate Communication Coordination Office, the event will be held at Mimar Sinan Campus, Turkuaz Hall. Candidates and their families will have the opportunity to explore the departments they are interested in. Over two days, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, students and parents will be able to engage directly with faculty members at department stands, gaining valuable insights. Additionally, they will receive information about campus facilities, academic programs, student support services, extracurricular activities, laboratory facilities, BTU’s Industry-Based Professional Training Program (IMEP), transfer opportunities, double major programs, and international exchange programs.

Rector Çağlar Invites Prospective Students

Emphasizing the significance of choosing the right university and career path, BTU Rector Prof. Dr. Naci Çağlar invited students and their families to BTU Preference Days:

"The right choice is the key to a fulfilling career and a happy life. Candidates and their families should use this key wisely. Young individuals should select fields aligned with their skills and interests. Our academic staff is ready to assist them in making these crucial decisions. We look forward to welcoming all prospective students and their families to our university."

A Balance of Theory and Practice

Highlighting BTU’s commitment to staying up to date with global scientific advancements, Rector Çağlar added:

"Success in today's job market requires specialization in specific fields. At BTU, we continually update our educational programs to meet industry demands. Alongside theoretical education, we provide students with hands-on training. Through our Industry-Based Professional Training Program (IMEP), senior students gain full-time work experience in leading companies for an entire semester. Over 90% of our graduates quickly secure positions in top firms. BTU is also one of the state universities allocating the highest share of its budget to R&D, providing students with access to advanced laboratories and research opportunities. We invite all prospective students to take advantage of these opportunities and wish them success in their university selection process."

BTU Introduces 3 New Programs

Keeping up with the evolving demands of the job market, BTU is launching three new undergraduate programs. Under the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and Data Science and Analytics programs will admit students for the first time this year, each with a capacity of 30 students. Graduates will be well-equipped to become experts in various fields of artificial intelligence and computing.

Additionally, the Faculty of Maritime Studies will welcome its first students to the Maritime Business Management program. With an initial intake of 20 students, this program will prepare graduates for careers in operations, marketing, and other key sectors of the maritime industry.
