Bursa Technical University (BTU), which has been involved in many projects in the field of artificial intelligence, is preparing to crown its expertise with new academic programs. The university will introduce “Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning” and “Data Science and Analytics” undergraduate programs, which prospective students can choose this year.

During a meeting at İstanbul Technical University, the President of the Council of Higher Education (YOK), Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, announced the new programs at 20 universities, including BTU. The programs, which will be introduced under the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, will be included in the OSYM guide this year.

These new programs are seen as highly strategic for Turkey, with courses taught by expert faculty members at BTU. The programs will offer both theoretical and practical training. Additionally, students will participate in the Professional Education Program, gaining job experience before graduation. This initiative will contribute to the development of qualified human resources in these critical fields.

BTU Rector Prof. Dr. Naci Çağlar emphasized, "We are one of the few universities to have received TUBITAK Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem project support for two consecutive years. Our university has also been a leader in the field of data science and analytics. We are excited to share our expertise with students through these new programs.

Rector Çağlar highlighted that these new programs would equip students with the skills needed to meet the demands of the rapidly changing world. "Universities must adapt their curricula to match these changes. With the new Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and Data Science and Analytics programs, we aim to produce graduates who are highly skilled and in line with industry expectations."

Rector Çağlar also expressed his gratitude to Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, the President of YOK, for his support in securing these distinguished programs for BTU. He concluded by wishing success for the new programs and their contributions to the university, city, and country.
