Bursa Technical University (BTU) Turkish Language Teaching and Research Center (TÖMER) organized a trip and iftar program for its students. The event, organized during the holy month of Ramadan, was attended by TÖMER students who came to Turkey either through the Overseas Turkish Communities Scholarship Program (YTB) or through their own means. The event was also supported by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality.

Exploring Bursa's Historical Sites

Foreign students who came to Turkey for higher education and are learning Turkish at BTU TÖMER before their undergraduate studies first explored the city center of Bursa. Accompanied by a professional guide, the students had the chance to visit historical landmarks in the city. This trip allowed them not only to see and examine these structures but also to closely experience the values of Turkish culture. During the event organized by TÖMER, students visited significant sites such as Yeşil Mosque, Ulu Mosque, the Tombs of Osman Gazi and Orhan Gazi, Koza Han, and Tophane. Throughout the visit, they actively practiced their listening, watching, and speaking skills in Turkish.

Iftar Gathering of Students from All Around the World

After visiting Bursa’s historic sites, BTU TÖMER students participated in an iftar gathering organized for them. The iftar event took place at the Gölpark facilities of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, where TÖMER students from around the world had the opportunity to share a meal and experience the values of unity and togetherness within Turkish culture.

Throughout the day, the students were accompanied by TÖMER Director Lecturer Alev Cuydur and instructors Lecturer Yasemin Köksal Çakır, Lecturer İpek Ercanaslan, Lecturer Şeyma Yavuz, and Lecturer Canseli Selçuk.
